The solo performance–approximately 35 to 45 minutes in length–will be followed by a question-and-answer session with choreographer/dancer Morgan.
.
Pohaku brings together modern dance, hula, classical music, storytelling and projection to explore compelling universal themes in the story of native Hawaiians, including land loss and fractured identity.

Inspired by the work of Morgan’s late cousin, hula master John Kaimikaua, collaborators include members of Kaimikaua’s Hālau Hula o Kukunaokalāclassically trained electric cellist Wytold, projection designer Sareen Hairabedian and kapa maker Dalani Tanahy.

For a preview, go online.
