Roadwork Planned from Huelo to Hāna Starting Sept. 21

Goodfellow Bros., Inc., issued a notice to motorists, informing the public of planned construction, scheduled to start on Monday, Sept. 21.  The company is conducting the work in conjunction with the State of Hawaiʻi, Department of Transportation, with roadway improvements planned along Hāna Highway from Huelo to Hāna.  The project includes work along the stretch of road between Mile 13 and 16.  The project will be conducted between the hours of 7 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., with work slated to conclude in about six months on March 3, 2016.

A temporary traffic signal system will be implemented at Mile 13, with a one lane road closure planned as part of the project. Motorists are advised to expect traffic delays, and follow all posted sings, signals and traffic personnel.  The work is part of Phase 2A of the Hāna Highway Improvement Project.
