UPDATE: Two Men Charged With Attempted Murder After Molokaʻi Shooting

Maui police have since charged two suspects with first degree attempted murder in connection with a shooting reported on Wednesday afternoon on Molokaʻi.

Police say Chad Naehu, 32 and fellow suspect Travis Torres, 26, were charged on Thursday, Oct. 15 at around 5 p.m. and 6:10 p.m. respectively.

Both men were being held in lieu of $1,000,000 bail each at the Wailuku Police Station.

Maui police arrested two men for allegations of first degree attempted murder following a shooting on Molokaʻi on Wednesday afternoon that resulted in the hospitalization of two men.

Police say Chad Kaipo Naehu, 32, of Kaunakakai, Molokaʻi, and Travis Torres, 26, of Hoʻolehua, Molokaʻi were arrested at around 10:15 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 14, 2015.

Police say both suspects turned themselves into the Molokaʻi Police Station. Naehu and Torres are currently in custody at the Molokaʻi Police Station pending charges.

According to police reports, both victims involved in the case have since been flown to the Queen’s Medical Center on Oʻahu where they are being treated for gunshot wounds.

Police say one person remains in critical condition and the other in guarded condition.

The investigation is ongoing.
