Advisory Level Swell Continues for Veteran’s Day

A Small Craft Advisory is posted for all Maui County waters through 6 p.m. Thursday for northeast winds up to 30 knots and rough seas up to 14 feet.
A High Surf Advisory is in effect for the east facing shores of Maui and Molokai through Thursday at 6 p.m. Surf heights of 7 to 10 foot faces are expected.

North: Wave heights are expected to be knee high or less for breaks open to the fading northwest swell. Trade swell continues for Hana area and spots open to trade swell up to overhead to a few feet overhead.
West: Wave heights knee/waist/chest high are expected today out of the south-southwest. Some breaks could get up to shoulder high on the sets. Spots shadowed by other islands will be pretty flat.
South: The south-southwest is expected to bring knee/chest high waves today. The best breaks could get up to shoulder high on the sets.
An advisory level east-northeast trade swell continues to affect windward coasts this week.
Our current south-southwest begins to trend down on Wednesday afternoon.
Our current northwest swell is also on a downward trend. However, a pair of northwesterly swells are expected to roll in Friday and into the weekend.
Keep in mind, surf heights are measured on the face of the wave from trough to crest. Heights vary from beach to beach, and at the same beach, from break to break.
