The public is invited to provide input on the future of Kanahā Beach Park at a Community Visioning Workshop on Tuesday, Dec. 1, 2015.

The workshop, hosted by the Maui Department of Parks and Recreation, will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Velma McWayne Santos Community Center in Wailuku.

County officials say the community workshop will allow residents to share ideas and feedback for consideration in the development of a proposed Master Plan for Kanahā Beach Park.

“The workshop is designed to help build a shared vision for the beach park regarding future recreational uses, improvements, and management of the park,” county officials said in a press release announcement.

“This master plan is long overdue for Kanahā Beach Park and we are excited to be at this point in the process,” said Parks Director Ka’ala Buenconsejo in a department press release.

“The first six months has consisted of a considerable
amount of research and review, it is encouraging for the department to now be able to engage with the community so that we can further the community’s vision for one of our premier destination beach parks in Maui County,” said Buenconsejo.
