Armstrong Development and the Burrard Group have launched sales at Makali‘i, a new residential community of 68 townhomes located at the gateway to Mākena.

Armstrong Development and the Burrard Group have launched sales at Makali‘i, a new residential community of 68 townhomes located at the gateway to Mākena, within walking distance of Polo Beach and the Wailea beachwalk.

Offering unobstructed ocean, island and sunset views, the hillside community will feature two- and three-bedroom condominiums ranging from $1 million to $2.4 million fee simple.

Ranging from 1,562 to 1,802 square feet, Makali‘i’s open-plan homes are located within 17 four-plex buildings that step down along the hillside.

Three floor plans are offered featuring spacious living spaces and floor-to-ceiling glass windows.

Integrating energy-efficient and renewable energy technology, the homes have been designed to capture prevailing winds for natural cooling, while expansive glass and skylights provide natural lighting.

The townhomes are oriented to take advantage of views, with Molokini as its centerpiece.

“We’re really excited about this project, as it offers something completely new and different for Wailea,” said Robert Armstrong, president of Armstrong Companies. “The architecture, concept, views, limited number of units and location make this property the only one of its kind in Wailea.”

“The interest in Makali‘i at Wailea has been extraordinary, which is not surprising given the location, the architecture, the views and the amenities,”said Nancy J. Callahan, RB, project sales director of The Wailea Group, which was selected to exclusively represent Makali‘i at Wailea. “People who know Wailea are paying attention. This is proven by the fact that we now have 16 units under contract since our launch event five weeks ago.”

“The architectural design proposes a new character and style inspired in part by the mid-century modern and early Hawai‘i-statehood-style, a period rooted in hope, confidence and belief in a better future with boundless potential,” said Stephen Yuen, AIA, principal at Group 70 International Inc.

A Residents Club, perched high above the entry to Makali‘i, will offer a barbecue area and pavilion, exercise room, terrace, spa and infinity pool. Walking paths will traverse the property and connect with micro-parks filled with native plants, trees, fruits and flowers.

Makal‘i is set to break ground in summer 2016 and is scheduled to be complete by the end of 2018.

This is Armstrong Development’s third residential property currently in development on Maui. The other two projects are Keala o Wailea and Kalama Kai.

For more information, visit the Makali’i showroom at the The Wailea Group in Shops at Wailea, call (808) 875-6911 or go to www.makaliiatwailea.com.
