Drive-Thru Voter Registration This Week
The Office of Elections and County Clerks will be holding drive-thru voter registration events on July 13 and 14 at various locations statewide, giving Hawaiʻi residents another opportunity to register to vote.
2016 Drive-thru Voter Registration location on Maui is at Baldwin High School Auditorium from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
The registration events come as the deadline to register to vote in the primary election approaches this Thursday, July 14, 2016.
Individuals may visit a designated location to register or update their voter registration with the help of an election official from the convenience of their vehicle.
Additionally, voters are invited to drop-off completed voter registration forms to these drive-thru locations.
To be eligible to register to vote, you must be a US Citizen, a Hawaiʻi resident and at least 18 years of age.
Other Drive-Thru locations identified throughout the state include: the Bayfront in Hilo, Kmart in Kona and Malama Market in Pāhoa from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; on Kauaʻi at the Office of the County Clerk from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; and on Oʻahu at the Hawaiʻi State Capitol facing Beretania Street from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Voters who have moved or changed their name since the last election, will need to update their voter registration.
Wikiwiki Voter Registration Forms are also available at the following locations: US Post Offices; Public Libraries; Yellow Pages; Office of Elections website; City/County Clerk’s Offices; and most State Agencies.
Completed voter registration forms must be submitted to the Clerk’s Office by 4:30 p.m. or postmarked by July 14, 2016 if mailed.
The primary election is on Saturday, August 13, 2016. Polls are open from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.
