Maui Woman Pulled from Waters Off Kihei Beach

Wailea firefighters responded to Kamaole Beach Park I to assist ocean safety lifeguards with an unresponsive female pulled from the water at 12:03 p.m. on Friday, August 26, 2016.

The Wailea engine crew arrived at 12:09 p.m. and assisted lifeguards with CPR on the woman. Paramedics followed soon after and continued advanced life-saving efforts. The woman was taken to Maui Memorial Medical Center in critical condition.

The woman, a 59-year-old Wailea resident, was found floating unresponsive in the ocean and was brought to shore by beachgoers. Fire officials say no one witnessed when the woman ran into trouble.
