Washington Woman Pulled from Water at Kapalua Bay

A 64-year-old female visitor from Renton in Washington State, was pulled from the waters at Kapalua Bay while snorkeling with family members on Wednesday afternoon.

Firefighters responded to a report of the unresponsive female at 12:33 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2017.

Nāpili firefighters arrived at 12:40 p.m. and took over CPR that was being performed by good Samaritans after beachgoers found the woman unresponsive in the water.

Paramedics arrived a short time later and continued advanced life-saving measures; however, despite all efforts, the woman could not be resuscitated and died at the scene.
