Woman Arrested Under Warrant in Maui Prison Contraband Case

Susan Capobianco

Susan Capobianco, the aunt of convicted murderer Steven Capobianco, was arrested on Thursday, March 23, 2017 under the strength of a warrant, according to Maui police.

Susan Capobianco, 49, was indicted for an incident that occurred on February 19, 2017, where she allegedly tried to pass contraband to inmate Stephen Capobianco, who she was visiting at the Maui Community Correctional Center.

The item, wrapped in black tape, was recovered by correctional officers during visitation hours at the facility.

The arrest was under a warrant for the offenses of second degree promotion of a dangerous drug, third degree promotion of a dangerous drug, second degree promotion of a harmful drug, second degree promotion of a detrimental drug, third degree promotion of a detrimental drug, prohibited acts related to drug paraphernalia, first degree promotion of prison contraband, and second degree promotion of prison contraband, according to Maui police.

Susan Capobianco’s bail was initially set at $100,000.
