Maui Surf Forecast
North: Surf heights are expected to be waist/shoulder high today and strongest early in the day.
West: Surf heights are expected to be knee/waist high today. Spots blocked by islands could be flat.
South: Surf heights are expected to be knee/waist high today. The best breaks could get up to chest high on the sets early in the day.
Our current southerly swell is forecast to fade over the weekend. Nothing of note is expected out of the South Pacific until about mid-month. There is a storm that could bring maybe waist high sets around the 13th, another stronger storm with a wider fetch is forecast around the 16th with wave heights possibly up to waist/chest high. Will keep an eye on these.
A series of northerly swells is expected. The largest is fading into the weekend. Another reinforcing swell from the north-northwest is due in next week Tuesday / Wednesday. Models are showing that it may be smaller than previously expected. Will keep an eye on it.
Keep in mind, surf heights are measured on the face of the wave from trough to crest. Heights vary from beach to beach, and at the same beach, from break to break.
