AARP to Host Workshop with Identity Theft Expert Frank Abagnale
AARP Hawai‘i is bringing identity theft expert Frank Abagnale to Maui on Saturday, Oct. 21, 2017, at the King Kamehameha Golf Club at 9:30 a.m.
Abagnale was one of the most successful identity thieves in U.S. history. During his criminal career, which began when he was just 16, Abagnale forged more than $2.5 million in checks and posed as an airline pilot, doctor and lawyer before his capture at age 21. His exploits became a best-selling book and the movie Catch Me If You Can starring Leonardo DiCaprio as Abagnale.
After Abagnale was released from prison, he started helping the FBI outsmart con artists. He’s also joined forces with the AARP Fraud Watch Network and AARP Hawaii to teach you how to protect yourself and your family from identity theft.
For those that can’t attend his presentation in person, AARP Hawai‘i is offering a telephone town hall and Facebook live events so more Hawai‘i residents can benefit from his advice.
To sign up for the telephone town hall go to https://access.live/AARP-HI. The Facebook Live videostream will be on the AARP Hawaii Facebook page on Oct. 18 at 6:30 p.m.
