Night work begins on the Hāna Highway in the Wailua Valley area of East Maui this week. The work to repair an existing drainage crossing will result in a road closure between the Wailua Valley Lookout near mile marker 19 and Puaʻa Kaʻa State Park at Mile 22.

Crews will remove five Cook Pine trees and 11 Ironwood trees that are decaying and are at risk of falling.
