Night work begins on the Hāna Highway in the Wailua Valley area of East Maui this week.  Maui Master Builders says that the work will run from November 5 to 7 between 7 p.m. and 5 a.m.

The work to repair an existing drainage crossing will result in a road closure between the Wailua Valley Lookout near mile marker 19 and Puaʻa Kaʻa State Park at Mile 22.  This is only during the evening hours from Wednesday through Friday this week.

In addition to the drainage crossing repair, state Transportation Department officials say single lane closures will take place during the same hours throughout the week (Monday to Friday) from Mile 19 to Mile 24 near Kapāʻula Gulch.

In other parts of Maui, lane closures are planned on Kekaulike Avenue in Kula in both directions between Haleakalā Crater Road and Kula Highway, Monday through Friday this week between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. for road repaving work.

And in Wailuku, road widening work continues on Waiehu Beach Road, resulting in lane shifts on the roadway between Makaʻala Drive and Eha Street.
