The state Department of Transportation has announced roadwork associated several state highway projects on Maui this week.

In East Maui, road maintenance work continues on the Hana Highway. The work will result in a single lane closure in the westbound direction from milepost-10.4 near the Garden of Eden to milepost-16 near the Keanae Peninsula Road.

Work hours are 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. daily from Monday, March 18, through Friday, March 22.

In West Maui, work continues to repair ocean erosion damage that has undermined the shoulder lane foundation of the Honoapiilani Highway.

Work is ongoing with reduced speed limits in the work zone that extends from Front Street in Lahaina to Kai Hele Ku Street fronting Launiupoko State Park. The eastbound (Kihei-bound) lane on Honoapiilani Highway has been shifted to the mauka (north) side of the road in the work zone.

Motorists are also advised of alternating lane closures in both directions for maintenance and repairs on the Honoapiilani Highway between Leialii Parkway and Kapunakea Street.

Work will take place Monday, March 18, through Friday, March 22, continuously at all hours, for road maintenance and repairs.

Lane closure schedules may change at any time without further notice. All projects are weather permitting.
