The Maui Arts League sponsors the 15th Maui Plein Air Painting Invitational in February 2020 features 24 award-winning landscape artists.

Maui Arts League sponsors, volunteers and advisers are planning their largest Maui Plein Air Painting Invitational yet, scheduled for Feb. 16-24, 2019.

The Maui Arts League will sponsor two oil painting workshops offering classroom, demo and personalized field instruction for 12 artists.

Ronaldo Macedo depicted the historic mill as five generations of Maui residents have known it for over 130 years during the 2016 Maui Plein Air Painting Invitational.

Village Galleries will be bursting at the seams from Feb. 13 to 21. Boat Day visitors from Lahaina and Kahului Harbors will join Maui art enthusiasts—visitors and residents alike—to enjoy the fine artworks of 25 Maui Plein Air Painting Invitational artists from the Mainland and Hawai’i.

Famous plein air artists from Hawaiʻi and the US Mainland will work outdoors and on location to create works of art in two to four hours—a process open to the public at several Lahaina locations during Presidents’ Week.

Now in its 11 year, this February event enables the public to observe talented plein air artists up close as they create their works of art outdoors. Collectors also get the opportunity to buy fresh, original paintings.

Enrollment is now open for artists and serious art students interested intensive plein air workshops to be offered in February 2016, hosted by the Maui Art League. The Maui Arts League is the sponsor of the Maui Plein Air Painting Invitational.

Starting this fall, the Maui ARTS league Committee will run focus groups to assess community interest, and to collect ideas and support for the museum.

Artists have an opportunity to capture the island’s spectacular vistas, pristine beaches, majestic mountains, and historic towns.
