The unbeaten Lunas managed to shutout Baldwin 35-0 Friday at War Memorial Stadium despite playing as if it had skipped a beat before a homecoming crowd of about 3,000.

The Sabers’ defense set the tempo early and their offense delivered scores running and passing the ball en route to a 27-0 shutout of Division I foe Baldwin, before a crowd of about 2,500 at War Memorial Stadium.

The King Kekaulike High School girls volleyball team turned back Baldwin High School in four sets Tuesday to clinch the Maui Interscholastic League Division I regular-season championship and the state tournament berth that accompanies it.

Last summer Keanan Luis decided to step up his offseason workouts. All that sweat, sore muscles, and early hours training paid dividends for the Baldwin High School football team on Friday at King Kekaulike Stadium.
