FATALITY INVESTIGATION FOLLOWING DECEMBER ACCIDENT

Maui’s traffic fatality count for 2008 rose to 24 following the death of a Kihei man last week.  Maui police say 20-year-old Jonathan Ferrer was transported to Maui Memorial Medical center on December 21st after an early morning accident in which the pickup truck he was in, collided into a cement island and post on North Kihei Road.  Ferrer died a week and a half later on January 7th.

The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
