Maui Police Seek Suspect in Kahului Bank Robbery

Maui police are seeking the public’s help in identifying a bank robbery suspect.  Authorities say the suspect entered the Bank of Hawaii Dairy Road Branch at the Maui Market Place at around 1:20 p.m. today (Friday, January 16, 2009).  Acting Lt. Brian Kaya with the MPD Criminal Investigation Division said the suspect approached the teller, demanded money, and fled with an unknown amount of cash.

The suspect in this case and is described as being 50’s, approximately 5’10”-5’11”, 205 lbs, black and gray hair with a bald spot on the back of his head.  He was last seen wearing a dark color windbreaker jacket with a grey square patch on the left sleeve, possible camouflage shorts and black rubber slippers.

Attached are the bank surveillance photos taken of the suspect.
