The Department of Water Supply (DWS) advises customers in North Kihei that water will be shut off overnight. The shutdown will take place between 9 o’clock tonight and 5 o’clock tomorrow morning, as contractors relocate an 18-inch waterline that provides water to the South Maui area.
Areas affected include Sugar Beach, the Hale Piilani subdivision, the Kihei Commercial Center, Kihei Gateway Plaza, and the Piilani Business Park. Also, the area mauka of the Piilani Highway between manini Place, Ohukai and Oe Street; and the area between South Kihei Road and Piilani Highway from Uwapo to Kulanihakoi.
Other areas of South Maui may experience low water pressure during this time. Customers are urged to conserve water by turning off irrigation systems and other non-essential uses tonight through tomorrow morning.
Customers are urged to call the 24-hour service line (270-7633) only if a water problem occurs.
