Maui police are seeking the public’s help in identifying the driver involved in a fatal hit-and-run collision in Kuau early this morning.  A 43-year-old pedestrian, visiting Maui from the Republic of Latvia, suffered fatal injuries in the incident.  The victim was struck by a vehicle at around 12:20 a.m. on the Hana Highway near Waa Place.   Preliminary information reveals the vehicle involved may possibly be a white car or truck heading east on the Hana Highway at the time of the crash. Damages would be to the front end of the vehicle.  Anyone with information is asked to call the traffic section of the police department at 244-6344. The incident is the 3rd traffic fatality on Maui County roads this year.
