Lahaina man dies in Motorcycle Crash

A Lahaina man suffered fatal injuries in a motorcycle accident Friday afternoon.

The man, identified as 24-year-old Joshua V. Thurman, was traveling north on the Honoapiilani Highway at around 5:33 p.m., when he lost control of the motorcycle he was operating and collided into the concrete and steel guardrails just past Kapunakea Street.

Speed is being investigated as a possible contributing factor in the crash.  The operator was not wearing a helmet at the time of the incident.

The accident was the 5th traffic fatality on Maui County roads this year.
