The Maui County Fire Department Fire Prevention Bureau will hold an open house today (Tuesday, April 14, 2009), focusing on fire code and fire protection concerns. Fire officials will discuss fire sprinklers for residents, the upcoming adoption of the state and county fire codes, and general information on fire protection. The open house is intended to provide resources for those who navigate the fire code process, including architects, engineers and contractors. The session also provides information to individuals who want to build in areas with limited or no fire protection. The open house begins at 5 p.m. at the Velma McWayne Santos Community Center.
