HONOAPIILANI HIGHWAY NIGHTTIME PAVING CONTINUES
The state Department of Transportation advises Maui motorists of alternating single lane closures on Honoapiilani Highway through the Honoapiilani Tunnel from 9:00 p.m. Monday night, May 18, through 5:00 a.m. Tuesday morning, May 19, for pavement resurfacing and marking. Motorists are advised to use caution while driving through the work area and to allow for extra travel time. Roadwork is weather-permitting.
HANA HIGHWAY LANE CLOSURES FOR DEBRIS REMOVAL CONTINUE NEXT WEEK
KAHULUI – The state Department of Transportation advises Maui motorists of intermittent traffic stoppages on the Hana Highway (Route 360) in both directions between Mile Post 19.18 (near the Wailua Lookout) and Mile Post 21.0 on Monday, May 18, through Friday, May 22, from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., daily, for rock scaling operations and debris removal. Motorists are advised to use caution while driving through the work area and to allow for extra travel time. LAHAINALUNA ROAD DETOUR CONTINUES
KAHULUI – The state Department of Transportation advises Maui motorists that Lahainaluna Road will be closed from Kelawea Street to Ikena Avenue from Monday, May 18, through Sunday, May 24, for roadwork related to the Honoapiilani Highway Realignment project. During these closures, there will be no access between Ikena Avenue and Lahainaluna Road. Detours will be in effect. Motorists are advised to use caution while driving through the work area and to allow for extra travel time. Roadwork is weather-permitting.

KAPULE HIGHWAY RESURFACING
LIHUE – The state Department of Transportation advises Kauai motorists of alternating lane closures and shifts on Kapule Highway in both directions between Ahukini Road and Rice Street on Monday, May 18, through Friday, May 22, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., daily, for road resurfacing and striping operations. During construction hours, the speed limit will be reduced to 25 miles per hour and detours may be in effect. Motorists are advised to use caution while driving through the work area and to allow for extra travel time. Roadwork is weather-permitting.
VARIOUS DAYTIME, NIGHTTIME LANE CLOSURES
ON KAUMUALII HIGHWAY
LIHUE – The state Department of Transportation advises Kauai motorists of lane closures on Kaumualii Highway on Monday, May 18, through Friday, May 22, at the following times and locations:
8:30 a.m., to 3:30 p.m., daily:
- Between Halewili Road and Wahiawa Bridge, multiple lane closures in the eastbound direction for pavement resurfacing. During construction hours, all eastbound traffic will be detoured through Halewili Road (Route 540).
- Between Mile Post 17.0 and Mile Post 17.05, single lane closures in both directions for installation of a retaining wall and slope stabilization work.
9:00 p.m., to 6:00 a.m., nightly:
- At the Kipu Road intersection, single lane closures in all directions for pavement striping operations. Motorists are advised to use caution while driving through the work areas and to allow for extra travel time.
KUHIO HIGHWAY DAYTIME, NIGHTTIME ROADWORK
LIHUE – The state Department of Transportation advises Kauai motorists that daytime and nighttime lane closures or intermittent delays may be expected on Kuhio Highway on Monday, May 18, through Friday, May 22, at the following times and locations:
- 8:30 a.m. to 3:30, daily, intermittent single lane closures in the vicinity of Mile Post 18.0 for drainage installation work.
- 9:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m., nightly, single lane closures between Kawaihau Road and Inia Street in the southbound direction for road resurfacing work. Detours may be in effect.
Motorists are advised to use caution while driving through the work areas and to allow for extra travel time. Roadwork is weather-permitting.
WAIALO ROAD RESURFACING CONTINUES
LIHUE – The state Department of Transportation advises Kauai motorists of alternating single lane closures on Waialo Road in both directions on Monday, May 18, through Friday, May 22, from 8:30 a.m., to 3:30 p.m., daily, for finishing work. Motorists are advised that a four way stop has been implemented at the intersection of Waialo Road and Kaumualii Highway for the duration of the project. The project is ongoing and anticipated to be complete by the end of June 2009 Motorists are also advised to use caution while familiarizing themselves with the new traffic patterns and to allow for extra travel time.

VARIOUS HAWAII BELT ROAD LANE CLOSURES

HILO – The state Department of Transportation advises Big Island motorists of roadwork on Hawaii Belt Road on Monday, May 18, through Friday, May 22, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., daily, at the following locations:
Near Panaewa (Route 11)
- Single lane closures in the Volcano-bound direction for pavement reconstruction and resurfacing work from Keaau Bypass Road to Panaewa Bridge (Mile Posts 3.3 to 6.5).
Near Honokaa (Route 19)
- Alternating lane closures in both directions between Paauhau Road and Papalele Road for guardrail installations at Kahawailiilii Bridge (Mile Post 41.2).
Motorists are also advised to use caution while driving through the work areas and to allow for extra travel time. Roadwork is weather-permitting.
QUEEN KAAHUMANU HIGHWAY
TRAFFIC SIGNAL, CURB WORK
KONA – The state Department of Transportation advises Big Island motorists of alternating single lane closures in both directions on Queen Kaahumanu Highway at the Henry Street intersection on Monday, May 18, through Friday, May 22, from 8:30 a.m., to 3:30 p.m., daily, for traffic signal wiring and construction of concrete curbs. Motorists are advised to use caution while driving through the work areas and to allow for extra travel time. Roadwork is weather-permitting.
QUEEN KAAHUMANU HIGHWAY NIGHTTIME
ROAD RESURFACING NEXT WEEK
KONA – The state Department of Transportation advises Big Island motorists of alternating single lane closures in both directions on Queen Kaahumanu Highway between Henry Street and Puapuaanui Street from Monday night, May 18, through Friday morning, May 22, from 9:00 p.m., to 5:00 a.m., nightly, for road resurfacing and reconstruction work. Electronic message boards will be placed around the construction area and special duty officers will be on site to direct traffic. Motorists are advised to use caution while driving through the work areas and to allow for extra travel time. Roadwork is weather-permitting.
KUAKINI HIGHWAY SINGLE LANE CLOSURES

KONA – The state Department of Transportation advises Big Island motorists of alternating single lane closures in both directions on Kuakini Highway (Route 11) near between Kamehameha III Road and Walua Road on Monday, May 18, through Friday, May 22, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., daily, for pavement resurfacing operations.
