Water Shutdown Scheduled for Kahului 7/12/09

Contractors will replace a 12-inch waterline and install valves on Kaahumanu Avenue in Kahului on Sunday night, July 12, 2009, from 11:00 p.m. to Monday morning, July 13, at 8:00 a.m.  Customers will have no water in the following areas:

• Harbor Lights condominium
• Maui Community College (east portion only)
• Maui Beach Hotel
• Maui Economic Opportunity (MEO) Kahului Facility (Transportation Services and Youth Bank)
• Kaahumanu Avenue between Kane Street and Lono Avenue
• Ceramic Tile Plus building at 25 Kahului Beach Road

Portable water tankers will be stationed at the Harbor Lights condominium parking lot for customers to fill their own containers. Customers are requested to call the 24-hour service line (270-7633) only if a water problem occurs.
