HAWAII METH PROJECT TO HOST COMMUNITY FORUM ON MAUI
The Hawaii Meth Project will hold a community prevention forum in Kahului on Maui on August 5, 2009.
The nonprofit organization launched a hard-hitting island media campaign last month aimed at reducing first time methamphetamine use. The forum will feature discussion with local leaders, information on prevention efforts and an overview of its volunteer program. The forum is set for 6 p.m. Wednesday, August 5th at the MCC multipurpose room.
The forum for teens and adults is open to the public.
Speakers include Maui Mayor Charmaine Tavares; Circuit Court Judge Joseph Cardoza; Maui Police Captain Gerald Matsunaga, vice commander in charge of narcotics; and Cindy Adams, executive director of the Hawaii Meth Project.
