KAHULUI MOTORCYCLIST DIES OF INJURIES

A Kahului man died of injuries he sustained in a motorcycle accident earlier this week. Authorities identified the man as 51-year-old Alberto C. Tejeda. The man was traveling west on Papa Place when he lost control of the vehicle he was operating and collided into a raised curb on Hukilike Street. The death is the 11th motor vehicle fatality on Maui county roads this year compared to 13 at the same time last year.
KAHULUI MOTORCYCLIST CRITICALLY INJURED

A motorcyclist was transported Wednesday night to Maui Memorial Medical Center in critical condition with life threatening injuries.
The man was injured in a single vehicle collision reported at 6:35 p.m. at the intersection of Hukilike Street and Papa Place in Kahului.
The 51-year-old Kahului man was traveling west on papa Place when he lost control of the vehicle and collided with the raised curb on Hukilike.
The 2003 Harley Davidson motorcycle overturned and the man was ejected. He was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
Acting Lt. Barry Aoki with the Maui Police Department Traffic Section said speed and alcohol are being investigated as possible factors in the crash.
