Identity of Victim Released in Maui Murder Investigation

Maui Police have identified the victim in an ongoing homicide investigation as 45-year-old Alan Vegas of Kaupo.
Authorities say the man died as a result of a single gunshot wound which in turn caused internal bleeding.
The incident was reported Sunday morning (October 18, 2009) in the remote East Maui town of Kaupo.
The male victim was Medevaced to the Maui Memorial Medical Center where he died around 11:30 Sunday morning.

Detectives with the MPD’s Criminal Investigation Division are looking for a suspect for questioning.
