The Hansen Road Closure that was scheduled to start today has been pushed to next week because of today’s wet weather in Central Maui.  The closure will begin on Thursday January 14, 2009 at 8 p.m.  The road is scheduled to reopen again at 5 p.m. on Sunday January 17, 2009.

The Hansen Road closure will extend from Pulehu Road to South Puunene Avenue (near the A&B Sugar Museum).  Crews from the County of Maui Department of Public Works have planned the roadway improvements as part of the Hansen Road Realignment Project.

During the temporary closure period, no through traffic will be allowed. Access to the Puunene Post Office and the A&B Sugar Museum will be available via Mokulele Highway only.

Roadwork is weather permitting.
