Pladera Promoted to Rank of Lieutenant at Maui Police Department

The Maui Police Department today announced the promotion of Detective Jeraul Pladera to the rank of Lieutenant.  Pladera is a 17-year police veteran, most recently serving with the Wailuku Criminal Investigation Division.

Pladera began his career with the Kauai Police Department before transferring to the MPD in August of 1994.  He was assigned to the Wailuku District as a patrol officer and was later transferred to the Community Relations Section as a DARE Officer.

In 2002, he was promoted to the rank of Sergeant and worked in the Communications Section Receiving Desk, Molokai Patrol District and Wailuku Patrol District.  In 2004, Pladera was assigned to the Criminal Investigation Division where he worked as a member of the Sexual Assault Investigation Team.

Lieutenant Pladera’s promotion took effect on Tuesday, February 16, 2010.  He will take up his new post as Lieutenant at the Hana Patrol District effective March 1, 2010.
