May 7 Taro Plant Sale features rare varieties

The Maui Nui Botanical Gardens will hold a special taro sale today (Friday, May 7, 2010) from noon to 5 p.m. at the gardens on Kanaloa Avenue in Wailuku.  There will be more than 60 varieties from the taro families of:  Mana, Piko, Kai, Lauloa, Manini, ‘ele’ele and ‘ula’ula.  Select rare varieties will be on sale that will not be available next year.
