Five nominated to Maui Boards and Commissions

The council’s Committee of the Whole will consider this week the Mayor’s requests for the appointment of five people to vacancies on various boards and commissions.  The list of nominees includes:

  • Bernice Vadla to the Board of Variances and Appeals for a term expiring on March 31, 2013.  (Proposed to replace Sandra Duvauchelle).  The council must approve or disapprove the nomination by June 6, 2010, or the nomination will be deemed approved.
  • Linda Fernandez to the Liquor Control Adjudication Board.  The council must approve or disapprove the nomination by May 24, 2010, or the nomination will be deemed unapproved.
  • Donald Sheridan to the Board of Ethics.  Sheridan is proposed to replace Bob J. Pure, for a term expiring on March 31, 2014.  The committee must approve or disapprove the nominations by June 8, 2010, or the nomination will be deemed approved.
  • Debra Napua Kelly to the Molokai Planning Commission. Kelly is proposed to replace Taryn Waros for a term expiring March 31, 2012.  The committee must approve or disapprove the nominations by June 8, 2010, or the nomination will be deemed approved.
  • Raymond Phillips to the Subdivision Engineering Standards Committee for a term expiring on March 31, 2015.  The council must approve or disapprove the nomination by June 13, 2010, or the nomination will be deemed approved.

The meeting begins at 9 a.m. in the Council Chambers on the 8th Floor of the County Building on Wednesday, May 12, 2010.
