10/28 11a Wind Advisory extended for Maui and Lanai

October 28, 2010 – 11:00 a.m.

EVENT:   The National Weather Service in Honolulu has extended the Wind Advisory for Maui and Lanai now in effect until 6:00 p.m. this evening.
A Wind Advisory means that winds of 30 mph are expected.

EFFECTS:  East winds of 25 to 35 mph are expected through this evening, with locally higher gusts to near 50 mph.

PRECAUTIONARY MEASURES:  WINDS THIS STRONG CAN MAKE DRIVING DIFFICULT, ESPECIALLY FOR HIGH PROFILE VEHICLES. USE EXTRA CAUTION. SECURE ANY LOOSE OBJECTS THAT MAY BECOME AIRBORNE OR MOVE THEM INDOORS.
