10/28 8a Wind Advisory extended for Maui and Lanai
October 28, 2010 – 8:00 a.m.
EVENT: The National Weather Service in Honolulu has extended the Wind Advisory for Maui and Lanai until noon today.
A Wind Advisory means that winds of 30 mph are expected.
EFFECTS: East winds of 25 to 35 mph are expected through noon today, with locally higher gusts to near 55 mph.
PRECAUTIONARY MEASURES: WINDS THIS STRONG CAN MAKE DRIVING DIFFICULT, ESPECIALLY FOR HIGH PROFILE VEHICLES. USE EXTRA CAUTION. SECURE ANY LOOSE OBJECTS THAT MAY BECOME AIRBORNE OR MOVE THEM INDOORS.
