It will be a party and celebration Maui style.  There will be food, fun and music besides the great connections to the Hawaiian film community.  This gala movie premiere is a benefit for the Maui Food Bank.  On Sunday, November 28, the cast and crew will be at the Castle Theatre for the Maui premiere of “GET A JOB”.

"Get a Job" stars Willie K and Eric Gilliom

Producer, Stefan Schaefer said, “We were fortunate to have such great musical talent to set up the funny side of so many scenes.”  Schaefer is a veteran of German films and television.

In this hilarious presentation, William (Willie K) is a former musician and now successful employment agent.  His own career is in jeopardy when over the course of a week; he repeatedly fails to find work for Merton (Eric Gilliom).  Merton is a lovable local boy who surfs everyday in a spot where there are no waves.

Director Brian Kohne added, “I wanted to tell about the people here.  I hope this film will encourage other filmmakers to make local features.”

The spirited comedy is highlighted by appearances from world-renowned musicians, including Mick Fleetwood, Pat Simmons, Jake Shimabukuro and Henry Kapono as well as the antics of Augie T.

The soundtrack features music by the Barefoot Natives, Willie K and Amy Hanaiali’i.   Shimabukuro and Uncle Willie-K have great European followings as recording artists.

Tickets are $17, and an item, non perishable food-stuffs, for the Maui Food Bank is requested.
