Motorists traveling in the Ukumehame area of the Honoapiilani Highway are advised of ongoing work to repair power lines. Maui Electric Company began work to repair down power lines earlier this morning between Emergency Call Box #5 and the Entrance of Ukumehame Park. Traffic was under temporary contra-flow in the area until around 10 a.m. when crews were able to reopen the Westbound lane. MECO crews continue to work on the problem saying high winds may potentially cause more lines to drop. Motorists are advised to drive with caution.
