The eastern portion of the state is experiencing some heavy rains this morning. The National Weather Service has issued a Flash Flood Warning for the island of Kauai until 6:45 this morning. At 5:28 a.m., heavy showers continued to move across the southeastern portion of the island. The Wailua River gage indicated a level of 15.6, which surpasses the flood stage of 15 feet. The warning may need to be extended if flash flooding persists.
