Radar images show a line of strong thunderstorms located north and west of Kauai.  The unstable conditions have prompted a special marine warning from the National Weather Service for waters northwest of Kauai.  The Warning is in effect until 4:45 p.m.

The thunderstorms were moving slowly southeast according to radar at 2:43 p.m.  Forecasters say the thunderstorms are capable of producing wind gusts in excess of 34 knots.

Mariners can expect reduced visibility and heavy rain.  The Weather Service advises boaters to seek safe harbor until the storm passes.
