Wet Weather Expected over Western Portion of State Wed 1/12 and Thurs 1/13
The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Potential Outlook for the state of Hawaii. Forecasters say there will be a threat of heavy rain and flash flooding possible from Wednesday through Thursday this week.
The potential wet weather is the result of an approaching cold font that is coming from the northwest Wednesday. It is expected to stall over the islands on Thursday, bringing the threat of heavy rain beginning Wednesday afternoon.
Current indications are that the heaviest rain will be over the Western-half of the state near the front. The timing and exact location of the heavy rains remains uncertain. An updated outlook will be issued this afternoon.
