Bacteriological tests show NO positive results for total coliform prompting the cancellation from the Maui Department of Water Supply. The boil water advisory for Upper Kula was cancelled on January 14.

A break in a transmission main earlier this week may have compromised water quality; however, the line was repaired, flushed and tested.

The samples show that the water is free of bacteria and boiling is no longer needed. Department officials today thanked customers for their patience during repairs.
