Abercrombie Nominates Jesse Souki Director of State Planning Office

Former County of Maui Deputy Corporation Counsel Jesse Souki has been nominated for the State Director of the Office of Planning by Governor Abercrombie.
The Office of Planning works to maintain an overall framework to guide the development of the State through a continuous process of comprehensive, long-range, and strategic planning.
Souki currently serves as the Honolulu Deputy Corporation Counsel, where he advises on regulatory issues on the city’s rail transit project among other responsibilities.
Prior to that, Souki was a Senior Associate at Imanaka Kudo & Fujimoto LLLC, Deputy Corporation Counsel at the County of Maui, and a law clerk at Hawai’i State Judiciary in Wailuku.
Souki, 36, received his Bachelor’s in Economics and Master’s in Political Science from the University of Hawai’i at Manoa and his law degree from Seattle University School of Law.
Jesse Souki is also a cousin to Maui 8th District State House Representative Joseph M. Souki.
