From singing the National Anthem at this week’s Pro Bowl football game, to her upcoming show at the MACC’s intimate McCoy Studio Theater, her gigs and her band have been getting more high calibre.

A Maui girl, Anuhea went off to college to study film production, but realized that music was her passion. She came back to the islands to hone her skills as a songwriter and musician.

A self-taught guitarist and song-writer, Anuhea’s songs weave soul, jazz, and reggae with personal lyricism, all delivered in her unique soulful voice.

Upon her determined return to Maui, she quickly began to rise in the local music scene, playing open mics and coffee shop gigs, gaining a loyal following of admirers.

After a successful journey to LA in 2009 to record her first album, Anuhea’s album quickly rose up the charts, reaching number one on Hawaii sound scan charts, and the top 10 iTunes Pop and R&B Charts.

A recognized multi-Na Hoku Hanohano Award winning singer/songwriter, Anuhea has several new singles currently at number one on Hawaii radio. The album containing those new tracks will be available in summer, 2011.

On Valentine’s Day itself she will be featured at a Babyface concert in Honolulu.

In a special early Valentin’e Day offering of music, on February 12th, Anuhea will play her favorite songs at MvCoy, and tell the stories behind them.

She may be young but she has a lot to share. She is not only a beautiful talented musician, she is also a philanthropist. At every show she donates a portion of the proceeds to a charity.

This show will benefit Project Graduation for Seabury Hall Class of 2012.

Tickets are $35. Check out her other performance dates, pictures and videos at her website.
