Councilmember Mike White to Join Radio Show Monday

Maui County Councilmember Mike White, who is in his first term representing the Makawao region, will be the featured guest on Monday’s edition of “The Maui Breakfast Club” radio program.

White currently Chairs the Council’s Economic Development, Agriculture and Recreation Committee.  Outside of the Council, he spent 25 years managing the Kaanapali Beach Hotel and developing the hotel’s award-winning Hawaiian cultural program, the Pookela Project.

During the radio program, White is expected to discuss the county’s current economic landscape, including visitor spending, which accounts for approximately 80% of economic activity in Maui County.  White will also discuss the county’s revenue stream, which includes $110 million in property taxes and Transient Accommodations Tax funds generated by visitor accommodations.

The interview will be conducted live on Monday, February 14 from 9 – 10 a.m. It will air on Pacific Radio Group’s KNUI AM 900 with hosts Tom Blackburn-Rodriguez and Kellie Pali.
