New Agribusiness on Maui: Growing Olive Trees for Oil

The County of Maui opens discussion on an emerging agribusiness opportunity in Upcountry Maui. A talk story session on “Growing Olive Trees for Oil” will be presented to the public during a meeting next Saturday, February 26, from 4-6 p.m. at the Kula Community Center.

Guest speaker Bruce Golino, the owner and founder of Santa Cruz Olive Tree Nursery, will discuss water requirements, elevation considerations, and harvesting techniques.

The event is presented by the Maui Olive Company, with the support of the County Office of Economic Development.
