Oahu Flood Advisory until 2:30 p.m. 3/9/11

A Flood Advisory has been issued for the island of Oahu until 2:30 p.m.  At 11:24 a.m., the National Weather Service reported moderate to briefly heavy showers over the Windward portion of Oahu from Waimanalo to Hauula.

Officials from the Civil Defense Agency also reported elevated water levels in the Waikane Stream, which was reportedly sending debris onto the Kamehameha Highway.

Additional showers were expected to affect the area through mid-afternoon, according to the NWS.

Other locations in the advisory include, but are not limited to: PUnaluu, Kaaawa, Kaneohe, Kailua, and Waikane.
