A High Surf Advisory is in effect for the East facing shores of Maui and Molokai until 6 p.m. Friday, March 18, 2011.

Forecasters from the National Weather Service say strong trade winds will produce rough surf along the east facing shores.  Surf is expected to be in the 5 to 8 foot range, building to 6 to 9 feet on Thursday.

The high surf is expected to produce strong rip currents and localized beach erosion.

A high tide of approximately 2.6 feet is expected between 1:10 a.m. and 2:28 a.m. tomorrow morning.   The next high tide of approximately 1.8 feet is expected between 1:09 p.m. and 2:27 p.m. tomorrow afternoon.
