Former MPD Officer Arrested in Alleged Sex Assault Case

A former Maui Police officer was arrested today on a bench warrant for allegations of sex assault.  Lewis Gamble, 33, was taken into custody at 11:06 a.m. Tuesday, March 22, and was being held in lieu of $250,000 bail.

The allegations stem from a reported sex assault incident that remains under investigation.

The Bench Warrant outlined allegations of alleged incidents of: First Degree Sex Assault, Third Degree Assault, Impersonating a Law Enforcement Officer, False Reporting and Kidnapping.
