High Surf East Shores Maui and Molokai until 6p 3/25/11
There is a High Surf Advisory in effect for the East facing shores of Maui and Molokai until 6 p.m. on Friday, March 25, 2011.
Rough surf is expected to be in the 8-12 foot range today, lowering to 6 to 10 feet tonight and Friday.
The National Weather Service issued the advisory saying the rough and choppy surf was generated by strong gale force trade winds.
The advisory will result in rip currents and localized beach erosion along affected shorelines.
A high tide of approximately 2 feet is expected between 7:18 p.m. and 8:36 p.m. tonight. The next high tide of approximately 1.9 feet is expected between 9:08 and 10:26 p.m. tomorrow night.
