Trilogy Adds $2M Catamaran To Molokini Fleet

Trilogy Excursions has added a 64-foot catamaran, “Trilogy II,” to its sailing fleet that provides snorkel tours to sunken volcanic crater  known as Molokini.

At a cost of more than $2 million, the new Trilogy II features a fully-equipped wet bar and serving area located in the cabin along with lounging spaces and an entertainment center that includes a widescreen multimedia display.

The boat’s cabin deckhouse and bridge deck is constructed with Constant Camber panels. Constant Camber is a boat-building method that utilizes an outside-in building method that results in a “molded Plywood” boat. This patented method uses full or partial length panels of veneer and epoxy to produce a frameless two-piece hull. The extremely high strength for low weight hull has no flat areas giving it good insulation and high impact/puncture resistance.

The vessel also is powered by twin 283kW Yanmar motors and has a cruising speed of 14 knots with a top speed of 24 knots.

Known for being a leader in environmental business practices, Trilogy has already retrofited their vessels so that overboard discharge of treated sewage was impossible. The company has taken this a step further on the Trilogy II which has been designed to contain graywater (dish water) as well.
