Despite the downturn in Japanese tourism in March, Hawaiian Airlines is meeting projections for slight gains in 2011 as it reports a 4% total passenger count increase for March over same period last year.
March passengers counts systemwide for Hawaiian Airlines were 732,066 for 2011 and 703,845 for 2010, according to a statement released by the company today.

To add to its mix, the Hawaiian Tourism Authority reported this week that Hawaiian Airlines, along with Korean Air, are expected to more than double the number of available air seats to Hawaii from South Korea; and Hawaiian Airline flights from Sydney is expected to fuel a 43.5 percent increase in overall seats from Australia.
